Dear All, There have been many changes recently due to activity in the steel making and IRD world. As you know, Johnny has moved on and started his own business to support the steel making world. He has a tremendous opportunity to branch out and help our mills get better and succeed. We wish Johnny all the success in his new adventure. While he has made this change he is by no means leaving the IRD high and dry. He will continue to help the organization to succeed and move on to the next level. A second change is that our Vice President, Mitchell Gaffka, needs to step away from his role as his new position at CMC, AZ has changed and cannot commit to being at each meeting. We wish Mitchell all the success in his new role. Thanks to Johnny and team for a successful meeting in Milwaukee. We had new technology for sign in, a new app created, and currently working on a new website. We are hoping to have the website finished, tested, and running for the new year. We will communicate when we are ready. Thank you all for your patience in Milwaukee as we all learned how to work through the process. We would also like to give a big thank you to Charter Steel Saukville for hosting, it was a great event. Congratulations to Daniel Cook from Charter Steel for winning the Timothy Jenkins Award for Keyence Measuring System and to Mike Falk from Falk PLI for winning the Edward Malan Award for his presentation of 'Laser Technology for Your Rolling Mill'. This brings us to a new executive team as of June 25, 2024, sworn in at our executive meeting in WV as we start getting things prepared for Spring Meeting of 2025. Coming out of our executive meeting this week we will be getting ready to communicate out information on the fall meeting in College Station, Tx.. This includes committee agendas, the Thursday Paper Day agenda, and registration. We are working on the Spouse/Guest tour and will update as we get information in. We should have everything in order by July's end. Don't forget about sending in scholarship applications. Please do so ahead of time and confirm with us that it was sent and we will communicate back that we received it. Cut off is August 31st, but again please get them in ahead of time to prevent any problems with mailings. We will also accept entries by email.
